About MALICIOUZ
I am a painter and muralist born in Montréal, of Haitian descent. Through contemporary figurative painting, I root my practice in Afro-diasporic culture and the Haitian heritage that lives within me. I am drawn to both the spiritual dimension and the contemporary expressions of Black cultures, which nourish my perspective and creative vision.
My visual language blends textured surfaces with the delicacy of airbrush, using acrylic as my primary medium. I build a symbolic iconography, presenting figures with an aura of nobility.
Having also evolved within graffiti culture, I create murals in public space as sites of awakening. Through color and composition, I seek to spark something vital in those who encounter them. My murals can be found in Montréal, New York, Port-au-Prince, Jacmel, Abidjan, and Douala.
